Christmas Joys

Well, since it has been FOREVER since I've blogged, I better give a quick recap of the last month and a half. I wish I could say I haven't blogged because there's been nothing to blog about, but that is not the case. I've been incredibly busy with both my job for the church and my card making business, Handmade Hellos; I just haven't found the time! Although, I haven't been making cards for the actual site, http://www.handmadehellos.com/, I've been working on custom orders. It has been a busy couple months! I hope to have a bunch of new card sets posted to the site in January. Please feel free to check it out! (Yes, I'm aware that was a shameless plug for my business but what can I say!) :)
Anyhoo, November was pretty quiet up until the last week and half or so when the whole Dykstra clan got together in AZ for Gideon's baptism and Thanksgiving. (For those who don't know, Gideon is Suzy's brother, Adam's, youngest son.) We had a fabulous time! We even spent some time at "the property" in Prescott. Although it was quite chilly there, we had a blast with Thanksgiving and Christmas gift opening. For many, many pics of both events, please go to www.dropshots.com/sljahn.

Stephanie & Gideon

December has already been a crazy month with much preparation for Christmas both personally and for the church. We also celebrated both Stephanie Hope and Matt's birthdays! Nettie was invited to Steph's 8th birthday party which was at the Walnut Creek Ice Skating Rink. (Yes, for you in snow country, we do have ice skating rinks here in CA, just not nearly as wonderful as those you boast!)

One of the most exciting events this December was Nettie's preschool Christmas program. She sang beautifully and participated as well as can be expected of a four year old. The video below shows a sneak peak of the fabulousness of it all. Again, feel free to go to the dropshots site to see all the videos and pictures of this event.

Christmas is just a few days away and we will be heading out to Iowa to visit the fam there. We look forward to sharing the fun we've had with all of you after that! Until then, dear readers . . .
