My Little Fishies
For the past two weeks the girls have been swimmin' like fish in the Concord Community Pool. We've been taking swimming lessons there and the girls are LOVIN' it! Today was our last day (sob) and thus ends our swimming lessons for the year. I'm pleased to report that both girls managed to get all the little check marks on their report cards and thus have been promoted to the next level. I wish I had pics but alas I have been the only adult of our family to attend and cannot be in the pool with Aubrie and take pictures of the action at the same time. :(
I did not get to see much of what Nettie was doing as I was singing "Old Mc Donald has a pool" and "I'm a little pancake, nice and flat" and "Motorboat, Motorboat go so slow." However, the few glimpses I saw were very encouraging. She even played a game of "Monkey in the middle" where she had to swim under the arms of the other kids to get out from the monkey cage. Ahh, I'm so proud!
I have vast knowledge however of Aubrie's accomplishments. She is able to "scoop" (paddle) and kick and blow bubbles with the best of 'em. Although it isn't her favorite, she also allows me to dunk her under now and again. Her favorite parts were playing on the steps and jumping into the pool from the edge (only while holding my fingers, of course, the little chicken!) :) The good part is that she is very comfortable in the water which is the whole point at that age. She's even beginning to realize that she can kick and paddle her way to where she wants to go.
And that's about it . . . until next time, dear readers . . .
